Website Hosting: In order for your webpages to be connected to the internet, you must have a website "host", or "server". Your host or server is connected to the internet, and assigns you storage space on their drive for your webpages to reside. The amount of storage space you receive varies according to server policies.

Virtual Domain: A virtual domain is your own personal directory on the web. Enabling you to have a short URL or address like www.(your company name).com/. There are many advantages to having your own domain;
1) The url (address) is shorter, and easier to enter into your browser.
2) People can remember your url easier.
3) A short url is easier to say over the phone
4) A domain url brings credibility to your company
5) A domain url is easier to fit on a business card
6) Some customers may try to find you by typing www.(your company name).com/
7) If you change hosts or ISP's, you don't have to notify everyone of a url change
8) Another company cannot have a website with an identical name

ISP: ISP stands for Internet Service Provider. This is your website host, or server.

Transfer Rate: This is the amount of data downloaded from your website in any 24 hour period. Excessive transfer rates can be costly, but not expected.

InterNic: The corporation who sells, and keeps track of all registered domains on the world wide web.

World Wide Web: Another name for the internet as a whole.
